Background

City of London Wadentree site provide all the grass cutting services for the Epping Forest area. The operation uses specialist tractors fitted with grass cutting equipment. Because these vehicles are operating off the highway they use red diesel.

The Problem

Richard Barrell, Estate Officer for City of London had some idea that their current fuel oil storage facilities were possibly not up to standard and would doubtfully meet the new Environment Agency’s strict legislation.

Mr Barrell was finding it difficult to locate a company that would not only supply a tank competitively, but would help take the old tank away and perform the necessary civil work promptly.

On attending the annular SED Show in May aimed at the construction industry Mr Barrell came across fuel storage specialists Liquid Management Solutions trade stand.

The Solution

LMS promptly appointed one of our team of specialist environmental advisors to visit the site to agree a structured project plan as not to cause any disruption to the overall operation.

• Engineers specified and laid a concrete base with re-enforcing capable

• of sustaining the 5,000litre plastic fuel oil tank.

• Working to Environment Agency regulations the redundant tank was

• de-gassed and removed from site.

• A new OFTEC certified 5,000litre plastic tank complete with a secure

• fuel dispensing pump was delivered and positioned on site, ready to

• go.
