Based in Silverstone, Graham Churchill Plant Ltd has 50 years’ experience providing plant and tipper hire, skip hire and land reclamation for both domestic and commercial clients across Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire.
The company had to remove and replace a fuel tank of a new tipper vehicle following a break down, which the manufacturer then identified as suspected fuel quality issues.
The company needed a quick identification as to the source of their problem as vehicles off-road would significantly hit the company’s operating results and profitability.
Liquid Management Solutions (LMS) appointed one of our qualified technicians to conduct multiple fuel samples, which were sent for immediate analysis. The sample results which came back within 48hrs revealed serious levels of water and iron contamination.
Due to the severe levels of water and metals LMS proposed a full fuel tank clean to eradicate any future issues to the new fleet. This initially meant removing the current fuel from the tank to be thoroughly cleaned removing all contaminants and build up sludge on tank walls. The fuel was then polished and filtered before being returned to the clean fuel tank.
LMS also installed fuel filtration to the existing fuel pumps to combat and reduce future contaminants getting into the vehicles.
